Nicola is an international para dressage rider and we have been looking after her saddle for the last few years. Nicola is now riding in the Bates Innova Mono+ Lux Dressage Saddles.
Nicola is a blind Grade IV para dressage rider she lives in London with her daughter Poppy. She skilfully combines working and being a mum with training her horses and competes nationally and internationally in both para
and able bodied competitions.
A keen show jumper in her youth, Nicola returned to riding after her daughter took up dressage in 2011, following a break from the sport. Partially sighted as a child, she lost her sight completely in her twenties. Ambitious and dedicated, Nicola trains in Kent with Daniel Watson who assists her in navigating her way around a dressage test by calling the
letters as she nears them.
Nicola is ranked 15th in the Grade IV FEI para dressage world rankings and is a serious prospect for Tokyo 2020. She is currently competing able-bodied at Prix St Georges level, representing GB on the para-international stage and training her top horse for Grand Prix. She is also a successful author and journalist as well as a motivational speaker.
Despite her challenges, Nicola demonstrates an unwavering commitment to her sport and is proof that with hard work and determination anything is possible!
