Gudrun Thuesen

Gudrun joined David Dyer Saddles in September 2019 as our new apprentice saddler and saddle fitting trainee.  Gudrun moved from home in Denmark when she was 17, to study Saddlery at Capel Manor College for two years.

Gudrun has a strong interest in saddle fitting and likes to help make a difference for both horse and rider. She is now a qualified saddler, and on route to gain her Level 3 Harness qualification  at the Saddlery Training Centre.

When she isn’t working, Gudrun spends her time with her beautiful horse Valentino & Belzon. She loves dressage and has a lot of experience working with young horses.

Gudrun has won awards throughout her training including the prestigious award of the Saddlers Company Trophy for Excellence of Work in Saddlery.  Gudrun has also won the following:

• 1^st Place Trainee harness Crupper and Dock and Premium Award at Saddlers Hall
• 2^nd Place Trainee Snaffle Bridle Premium Award at Saddlers Hall
• 1^st Place Worshipful Company of Coach Makers and Coach Harness Makers False Martingale
• 1^st Place Worshipful Company of Coach Makers and Coach Harness Makers years Harness Bridle
• 2^nd Place at Hertfordshire show for Harness Bridle
• 3^rd Place at Hertfordshire show for Head Collar
